The Griffin Institute London Bridges Walk 2022

Sunday 26 June saw 85 people of all ages, walk either 6½ or 13 miles around central London, crisscrossing nine of the iconic bridges along the Thames. The London Bridges Walk, organised by The Griffin Institute, raised money to support ground-breaking medical research, vital surgical training, and essential patient support across five local partner charities. It was a wonderful event, and a lovely sunny day for everyone involved. Every participant was smiling at the end of their walk and there were some wonderful stories of achievement.

We are grateful to all our wonderful walkers,  two of whom included our CEO Alison Rosen and her brother David, who has learning disabilities, who were walking to mark the 50th anniversary of their father’s death in 1972 from kidney cancer, at the age of just 34. Raising money for The Griffin Institute was hugely meaningful to them because of the charity’s impact on cancer, both in medical research and in training surgeons in the minimally invasive surgical techniques used in performing major surgeries for cancer. Alison and David will be dedicating a room at The Griffin Institute in their father’s memory. If you would like to support their fundraising efforts, you can donate via their JustGiving page
